Out of the Blue
Last month I recieved a letter from my Mom's first husband, Mr. D. I have met Mr. D only once in my life that I can recall. This would have been in 1990 or 1991. I should explain that not only is Mr. D Mom's first husband, he is actually my biological father. I was raised by my Mom as a single parent, along with the help of her incredibly kind parents and a little later my wonderful Step-Dad, A. I must admit I was startled and didn't know quite what to think when I recieved the letter. Mr. D was about to celebrate his 50th birthday and had also recently gotten married. His letter was as nice as it could be, so when I was sending out other mail I decided I would respond back to it. This is a first for me and I didn't even know how to begin the letter. I ended up just writing normal stuff, such as school is great, a little bit about my boyfriend, happy late birthday and congratulations on getting married, have a good Christmas. Both recieving the letter and my actually responding to it has been most unexpected.
