About Last Night

Last night the Frashley's began Halloween Extravaganza Weekend 2006
We went out dressed as Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. People really seemed to like our costume. I couldn't believe how many people tried to pet Tinkerbell (my chihuahua stuffed animal). I mean, come one people, it is not even a real dog. It's a stuffed animal. These people were adults, not children might I add. The Frashley's went to Delaney's in FivePoints to see McFly, our favorite 80's cover band. Our favorite bouncer, Joe, was working the door. We didn't stay in Delaney's long. It was too crowded. People kept bumping us and pushing us and stepping on our feet. We left and went to a party at Ashley's friend Graham's house. The party was going okay, the Frashley's were drinking vodka, cranberry, and sprite and suddenly the police were there. The Frashley's were not intimidated, as we are both over 21. A lot of kids at the party were under 21 and looked ready to peepee on themselves with fright. The cops made us all come into the living room and have a stupid lecture on underage drinking. The underage people were made to stand in the corner. We sat on the couch and continued drinking. It was boring. We were like "puh-leeze, can we go now?" They were nice in that they did not write tickets to the underagers. I must say, I am surprised I was never busted for underage drining, I certainly pushed my luck for a long time. I think I spent my whole first year of college "dead drunk". It was quite an experience. Tonight we are wearing our other costumes and going to The Flying Saucer. We are seeing 88 Rewind. I am careful to the extreme now that I am in my mature old age so I am not worried that cops are all over Columbia this weekend.

Frashley's + PR Trip

It is oh soo cold in Columbia today. We had to wear rolled up jeans and flip flops to class today. Our feet got soaked in the cold rain. We carried umbrellas and wore rain coats but still managed to get wet. We had a substitute in French class. She was not mean to us so it went okay. Ashley refused to cooperate with her.
All this cold weather has got us in the mood for some winter fun. How about we go with our beloved adopted father to Gstaad? The skiing is supposed to be amazing. Neither of the Frashleys have been skiing before, but we are willing to learn.
During the 60's and 70's Gstaad was supposed to be THE social scene. Princess Grace was a member of the posh private Eagle Club in Gstadd. Valentino had a chalet there. Elizabeth Taylor hid from teh press at her Gstaad chalet in 1962 after her affair with Richard Burton made headlines. At the time he was said to be a few hours away in Celigny with his wife and daughters, but managed to make a few trips to see Liz. Gstadd is said to be full of "coxy gingerbread style houses" ( W magazine, December 2004)
Valentino said "It costs a fortune, but everything is Switzerland costs a fortune, fo rwhat one chalet costs to build in Gstaad you can buy three houses in Southhampton. "

Spooky Frashley

The Frashleys have been busy with Halloween preparations. We have been running all over town gathering everything we need for our costumes. We haven't even taken our afternoon nap for two days in a row now. We are both wearing multiple costumes. We are going out as Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie for one night. Fran will be Paris and Ashley will be Nicole. The next night we have different costumes. Fran is a cop and Ashley is a cocktail hunny bunny. We are going to see McFly (our favorite 80s cover band) at Delaneys Friday. Saturday we are going to The Flying Suacer in the Vista for another party. We wish we were going to Bungalow 8 in NYC, but the Vista will have to do for right now. We are also going to go out Tuesday, which is actually Halloween. We are planning on participating in a costume contest. Our class that meets on October 31 was cancelled so we are really celebrating.

Ashley's costume is sort of like this.

I have already tried on my cop costume and have a preview pictorial. The Frashleys have recently gotten new flats for fall. I had to throw out my beloved Nine West turquoise flats that went with everything. I was pleased with the dark brown flats I got yesterday to replace them. We wore our flats to class today and both got blisters on our feet.

As we continue to make Halloween preparations this is our playlist:

Green Eyes - Coldplay

Ruby Blue - Roisin Murphy

Enjoy the Silence and Just Can't Get Enough - Depeche Mode

Mr. Vain and Rythm of the Night - LaBouche

Tuesday

Today I met with my advisor and recieved some very exciting news. I had previously thought I would be graduating in May 2008, however Boswell informed me that I can graduate December 2007. December 2007! This news has totally rocked my world. I know it is only one semester sooner than I thought, but it just seems like next December is soo much earlier than May 2008. I feel like I will be going to new places and new directions soon in my life. At times, I didn't know if I would ever be able to find a way to go back to school, or to go to a University, or to finish. I am so scared something will happen or I won't be able to get enough loan money. I am soo excited. Ashley is sad, she says this is a reality check, and the real world is coming soon, and our wonderful time here at USC will soon be over. I have lived on my own before and look forward to going somewhere and having my own apartment again. I feel like this time I will be able to afford my apartment (I hope!). I guess this time next year I will be looking for a job. Wow.

The second film is a true story of Ashley seeing a "ghost" from her romantic past and how I acted as a private investigator. A Must See!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Tonight I am going to read for my HRTM 285, Club Management, class and rent a movie. We want to rent The Breakup with Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. Shawn and I saw it when it came out. Good date movie.

All About Cosmetics

Isn't she lovely?
Ashlely with one of our Halloween decoraions. We decided to give out some tips about our favorite cosmetics and what we have found works the best.

Lipstick that goes on the smoothest and feels the best on your lips: Lancome, we recommend Nude # 5 for any time of year.

Lipstick color that looks the best on Frashleys and stays well: Bobbi Brown Ruby Sheer Lipstick

Best blush: Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Peony, also Dallas by Benefit, and Dessert by Este Lauder

Best Bronzer of All Time (we could not live without this, a Frashley never tans her face-see picture) : Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Now Frashleys have sworn off of liquid eye liner, way too harsh. Okay, hope this helps. Also, always stand up straight. Wear heels as often as possible. Learn how to walk in your heels, don't gallop. It's not step aerobics.

For dry hair, hot oil treatments. Also, Restoratives Conditioner by Pantene Pro-V. Use leave in conditioner Extreme Anti Snap by Redken. For strightening hair, Redken Spray Starch works miracles.

Even if it is uncomfortable, wear your retainer. Smiling always makes you look better.

Frashleys have recently gotten fall candles. We selected Autumn Leave and Spiced Pumkin from the Yankee Candle Company. They smell so yummy. For winter we are thinking we will save our money and get Mandrin Cranberry.

Tomorrow is Monday

Tomorrow is Monday and we still have to do French homework. We also have a French quiz. How not Frashley. The goal for this semester is Deans List (which we were both on last year). This semester we have some early classes, which makes us feel so cranky. Getting up on Monday morning is like trying to bathe a stray cat. Not fun.

Goblins are out and about. Fall is in the air and it makes us want to kick up our heels. Summer is great, but fall is so refreshing. This is a picure frame Shawn bought for Fran Frashley this summer at Myrtle Beach. It is from the Gay Dolphin, the funnest little kooky gift shop ever.

The Frashlelys have decided on the best episodes of Sex and the City ( which we own several seasons of between us). The superlative episodes are : From Season Four, All That Glitters and I Heart NY. They are just so good. We watched them this weekend even thought we have seen them thousands of times. I heart NY is about the change from Indian Summer to Fall, so it was only fitting.

Which is better, a fall wedding, an Indian summer wedding, or a spring wedding? I must decide soon as I have a wedding planning project due in November. For my event planning project I did a Gone With The Wind theme party. Scarlett, now that was a Frashley!

So very exciting: we are now on UTube. We did a scit and also just acted like ourselves and told some stories from our day to day life. Check us out on it: The Courtney scit is a good one.

Frightful Frashley!

A Night of Ghosts Past:
We are counting down to Halloween. Saturday night we got an early start on Halloween festivities. We picked up Papa Dale in the Pony and first had dinner at Brick City Grill. As the meal progressed, the topic of conversation turned to Halloween costumes and then to ghost stories. Papa had quite a few ghost stories. This was so much fun we decided to go to Old Stone Church Cemetary in Clemson, which is said to be haunted. By the time got drove to Old Stone Church graveyard it was about 10:30. We climbed the stone wall surrounding the cemetary and began to walk around. We stopped and looked at all the graves in the moonlight. We saw the legendary grave of the woman who died of a broken heart. Her large stone is cracked in several pieces. This is supposed to be because it was struck by thunder since the she was an adultress. She was in love with a married man and she and her man ran away together. They only made it a little ways when her brothers came and forced her to return with them. She then died, presumably of a broken heart. Poor Frashley. We had so much fun and fright at Old Stone Church Cemetary that we have decided our next pre-Halloween excursion will be to Cry Baby Bridge on Old Dobbins Bridge Road. I am not exactly clear on the story with Cry Baby Bridge but some spooky things are said to go down if you park your car and get out on the bridge around midnight. Eeek! Next we saw a ghost of Ashelys... As it turns out, we all have ghosts.
The appropriate Sex and the City episode: Ghost Town

On the fitness front: Last night I got on the scale and I have lost five pounds. Five pounds puts me halfway to my goal of losing 10 pounds. I put on a little this summer when I was in an office all day, and had the money to eat out for lunch everyday. Why are Sullivan's desserts so devine? This is so exciting and inspirational I feel filled with energy to go to the gym tomorrow.

Tired Thursday

Today Ashley and I slept almost the entire day. First we overslept and didn't get up until 10:45 when we have class at 11. I drove us because there was no way we would make it if we walked. I got lucky and found a good parking place without having to drive around for too long. We were only about 7 minutes late. After class we came back to our suite and slept for the rest of the day. I didn't get up until Shawn called around 6.

Before we went back to sleep we watched a blast from the past: Mr Rogers. Wow, it had been a long time. I had forgotten what a good show it was. I would tak a ride on the make believe train anyday. The guest on it was young Peggy Flemming. She was so beautiful and a great skater. She gave Mr. Rogers an ice skating lesson.

Papa Ridgeback, we love your prom story from The Blue Book. I imagine the kids looked kind of like this. I have the best memories of my own proms, I went in 2000, 2001, and 2002.

On the agenda for tonight: French homework. Then maybe if we aren't too tired I can convince Ashley to watch one of my favorite movies, The Notebook. What a great movie.

Thursday AM

The Frashleys are tired and don't at all feel like going to class. We are tired because last night we watched a marathon of Designing Women on Nick at Nite. Wow, they are so Southern 80s. Speaking of Southern 80s, this is a guy my mom went out with in about 1988. He was from Brazil and was a good dresser. They should have worked things out, I could be in Brazil right now.

He is saying: " Get out of my dreams, get into my car" or "Whats so funny about peace, love, and understanding?" He wants you to play "Club Tropicana" by Wham on a boom box for him. He wants to dance.

Like whoa, did you get lost on the way to an 80s party or what, dude?

Just for fun, Fran and some random guy in a bar. Circa 2004.

Really Important Question

A very perplexing question: Who is more Frashley, Minnie Mouse or Daisy Duck?
Circa 1980s Minnie Mouse doing what else but aerobics. Do you think she is listening to Madonna?
I found this picture online. It is actually from the Daisy and Donald paper doll book I had in the mid-80s. The paper doll book is for sale on eBay and I would enjoy having it. You know, in case I ever get the urge to play with paper dolls just for fun. Cutting them out is the most fun part. Once they are cut out there are only so many scenarios Daisy and Donald can go through. Are they still together?

A Frashely Dream Come True

What a wonderful idea: Papa Dale picks up the Frashleys from their home in Columbia and surprises them with a motorcycle he has just bought. The motorcycle has a pink sidecar for the Frashleys to ride in. Papa Dale then tells the Frashleys that he is driving them to Florida to see the flamingos sleeping in the everglades. Even more amazing, at sunrise the flamingos quit sleeping and all take flight together. They are supposed to look like a big pink cloud. We want to see them so much. The Frashleys identify with Flamingos a lot. They are pink and they sleep. If we were animals we would be Bahamas flamingos.

Ruby Red Magnum and Edie Sedgwick

Wouldn't a Frashley look fabuous behind the wheel of a Ruby Red Magnum. It must be ruby red. Ruby is Fran Frashleys birthstone. Hopefully in May of 2008 when I graduate I will get a great job and be on my way to owning one. I can just see myself crusing the open sea.....

Frashley must see: Factory Girl. It is about someone the Frashleys groove on: Edie Sedgwick. Sienna Miller (great clothes by the way) plays Edie. Seeing Sienna's hair makes me want to highlight again....

Babysitting and Islander Food

Friday night the Fran Frashley baby sat for the first time in a long time. My charge, a two year old little boy, was very sweet. We watched Finding Nemo, read books and played with trucks. There was only one bad moment on our little "date"....a diaper change had to take place. It was so bad I even had to change his clothes after the incident. I don't know about ever having kids. I felt like I smelled like baby even after I left his house. I would totally keep him again as he is Frashley compatible as long as he doesn't have to pumba. I imagine I looked about like Angelina in the July 2005 issue of W, which happens to be my favorite photography spread ever. Chic with children..... On a side note many of the clothes Angelina and Brad are seen wearing in the spread came from The Attic in Las Vegas. It is a high end vintage clothing store and I want nothing more than to go there. So unfair, Shawn has been to Vegas several times and I have never been. He has not been since we have been dating, otherwise I would own something from The Attic.

What I would not give right now to have a MexiWrap with French Fries from The Lazy Islander. They have the best food in the whole world. I so took it for granted when I ate there almost everyday, some days twice a day and got a discount there. However, I am fairly certain I have gone into retirement as a waitress. This picture was taken outside of The Islander on Halloween 2003. This is right around the time Shawn and I started dating. I am with my good friend Jamie. Jamie is living happily in Baltimore and is also in retirement as a waitress.

Pony Club Princess

Saturday The Frashleys wanted some fresh air and sunshine. The Frashleys got lunch at McDonalds and then went to window shop at Five Points. Out of sheer boredom Frashleys went into a toy store in Five Points. What we saw in the toy store brought back memories of my days spent playing with ponies, both toy and actual physical ponies. We saw a figurine pony that looked exactly like little Cupcake, which was our shetland pony. RIP Cupcake.....she has gone on to greener pastures. Poor little thing got separated from the other horses easily and would be off by herself in the woods. We were always thinking we had lost her when she would do this. She probably couldn't see or hear well and couldn't keep up with the group.

I recommend Hawiian Tropic Chapstick. It is totally moisturizing and smells just like the tanning lotion. It in no way is related to the bikini contest sponsored by the brand--so icky!

Tonight is a very exciting night. The new season of the Bachelor comes on ABC at nine. This time it is filmed in Rome. At 10 the new season of Dr. 90210 comes on. We think Haley Rey is so Frashley!
